They met through a mutual friend and decided that working in isolation is not going to get them anywhere. Now the duo from WhyCook cooks up a storm and they’ll be doing so in Hatfield, Pretoria on 1 June.
Mathapelo Montsho and Yolanda Nomoyi have started a CSI campaign in Pretoria, consisting of a soup kitchen that will run every first Saturday every three months, starting in June. The idea behind this is to have an impact on the youth – specifically in Youth Month – and to show them that giving back to community is an important part of growing or making progress.

For this CSI project, WhyCook is collaborating with a couple of their suppliers, including the Ventso Group and the Pretoria-based events company, Homecoming.
Mathapelo and Yolanda learned to cook from a very young age and they want their food to tell a story. They also do private dinners where they cook a 3-course meal for you and your guests in the comfort of your own home.
