It’s the season for socialising! With summer in the air and blossoms everywhere, it’s only natural to be on the lookout for sultry summer themed spots for drinks. Whether it is the weirdest craft beer, the best champagne or the most unknown wines, Pretoria certainly delivers.
Blos Café’s name says it all. Similar to the bright hues of colour that summer brings, they are a spot that offers an open-air deck fronting a beautiful green belt that is a favourite for orange and pink sundowners that turn into late nights. They also boast a cellar downstairs with a private deck and their wine list consists of some of South Africa’s finest wines.

If you’re not keen on going out, try mixing your own cocktails at home. Edible flowers can only enhance your cocktails’ flavour and flair. Add a floral liqueur, essence or syrup to your drink for some extra depth. Think lavender, violet and elderflower as substitutes for sweeteners. Also try some flowers as a garnish – rose petals, lavender, hibiscus, elderflower, fennel flowers and strawberry flowers are always winners. But just remember, no matter what you do this summer, just be sure to make it a fun one.
