Get lost together – Romanticise the City of Gold

February 22, 2019, Author: renate

You’ve made it through Janu-worry and the novelty of the new year has finally worn off. We’re now in the month of love and even though Valentine’s Day has already passed, it’s not too late for romance! We know, we know February, and more specifically Valentine’s day isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and can serve as a heavy reminder of just how single or not-so-single we are. But it doesn’t have to be a pressure-filled month! Why not use this month to fall in love with a new city, be that with a partner or solo.

So, we thought that we’d gift you with a different take. We put together a list of places in Jozi that you’ll undoubtedly fall in love with. They’ll serve as the perfect romantic spot for a date night if that’s what you’re looking for or a solo excursion that will lend to an awesome new experience – and who knows – you might meet someone new along the way.

Since we’re kicking tradition to the curb this year, skip the flowers, fancy dinner and wine and rather opt for delicious pancakes, eggs and mimosas instead – because who doesn’t love brunch, right? At the top of our brunch list is The Course at Slow in the City mainly because they have a killer breakfast cocktail menu. The delicious food – think traditional breakfast options with a fine dining twist – as well as the stellar location right in the heart of Sandton are an added and very welcomed bonus.

What would a month of love be without a little TLC? Spoil yourself or bring along a friend, family member or partner for a little self-love and enjoy a facial, massage or pamper treatment at the Renaissance Day Spa. Did someone say rest and relaxations? It’s the perfect, always-needed spoil after all.

Love has always been synonymous with flowers so, what better way to fall in love with the city than to appreciate it’s flora. We suggest packing a picnic basket filled with your favourite snacks, a good bottle of wine and a book for the most perfect picnic by the waterfall at the Walter Sisulu National Botanical gardens

There’s something so romantic about the night sky. Why not learn something new and get lost among the stars at the Johannesburg Planetarium? Not only is it as interesting as it is cost-effective but you’ll also definitely be crowned the winner of the most unique date night idea.
