Don’t let it rain on your parade: indoor activities for rainy days

January 8, 2019, Author: Danita Pilley

While most of us envision sunny, hot days by the pool, lazy outdoor lunches and outdoor activities for the summer months, we all know Gauteng weather can be unpredictable and an occasional storm or a few days of persistent rain are not uncommon. While there are few things better than ‘duvet days’ and Sunday snoozes when it’s rainy outside, for those with children, we know it brings a whole new challenge for entertaining the little ones – so we took a look at some of Pretoria’s best indoor activities.

 Indoor Trampoline Jumping

BOUNCE is an indoor trampoline phenomenon which took the country by storm and hasn’t lost its appeal. BOUNCE at Menlyn Maine is a huge indoor trampoline park that is home to South Africa’s largest trampoline. They have a free-jump arena, trampoline slam dunk, dodgeball and performance area, as well as an adventure challenge course called X-Park that combines elements of climbing, running and jumping before zipping on the aerial runway to the finish line. Apart from just providing hours of entertainment and a means to burn energy, jumping on trampolines can also have social, physical and cognitive benefits for kids – making it a sound choice for a day’s activity.
