Braza Silver Lakes

February 20, 2019, Author: renate

Where Rest & Relaxation isn’t the only R&R on Offer…

Braza Silver Lakes is the more casual version of its Emperors Palace counterpart. They’re all about lazy afternoon lunches, sundowners to miss the traffic and casual dinners with friends on the deck.

Driving into In-Shere Lifestyle Centre in Silver Lakes is like finding an oasis amid the hustle and bustle of the city. With landscaped lawns and an abundance of trees throughout, it’s difficult not to let go of the day’s troubles and simply relax and unwind. Braza Restaurant is a perfect addition to the centre with its large wooden deck, aviation-inspired outdoor bar area and an inviting, casual atmosphere.

They don’t label it Portuguese food but rather Portuguese-inspired flavour with a Mozambican influence. Whilst the meat and grills take centre stage, including beef ribs and steak cuts matured in-house, they pride themselves on signature dishes such as whole baby Kingklip and their Saturday Prawn Braai special – 1kg prawns for R199! You’re spoilt for choice with the specials menu and it gets updated regularly so you’ll never be short of options.

With live entertainment on Fridays and a wide selection of platters to share, it makes for a perfect start to the weekend. They have various beers on tap, a wide selection of Gin brands and an extensive cocktail menu – including the infamous Tipo Tinto Rum & Raspberries (or R&R’s) and classics such as Mojitos and Caipirinhas (by the jug for only R99 we might add!).

The little ones are catered for too with a comprehensive kiddie’s menu including riblets, Captains Prawns and pizzas. There is a jumping castle for the kids and plans are in motion for the development of a more extensive play area in the near future.

If you’ve been searching for a venue for a special occasion – be it a birthday, baby shower or even a year-end function – the sleek, clean décor of the restaurant (think exposed brickwork and copper piping), the peaceful ambiance of its location and the extensive food and drinks menus makes Braza a versatile fit for almost every occasion.

Their tag line is “Discover a World of Flavour” and that’s exactly what you can expect. When it comes to restaurant wish lists – good food, cold drinks, perfect location, ease of access and child-friendly – this one ticks all the boxes!
