MasterChef Australia 2017’s runner up, Ben Ungermann, is returning to South Africa in March and you can choose from 3 Masterclasses that he will be hosting across the country.
His visit will include Pretoria, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Port Elizabeth and follows his sell-out visit from last year. The Pretoria-based masterclass will take place at the Capsicum Culinary Studio campus in Pretoria on 11 March and the 3 classes that Ungermann will be presenting are: The Whole Chicken Masterclass, The Fish Masterclass and The Dessert Masterclass. You’ll learn how to take apart and use every part of a chicken, how to fillet and cook fish perfectly every time or you’ll get to make some of Ben’s famous desserts, including ice cream. (He has not been dubbed the Ice Cream King by his fans for nothing.)

Ungermann describes his food style as rustic with a hint of sophistication and some very diverse and unique flavour combinations. He is delighted to return to sunny South Africa. The last time he was in the country, he got to dine at Restaurant Mosaic and met Chef Chantel Dartnall and we quote: “The meal I had exceeded all expectations – one of the best I have ever eaten.” He is very excited to try out some more culinary establishments across the country, as well as to meet his fans and present the new series of masterclasses.
According to Capsicum MD, Renee Hill, they had numerous requests to bring Ben back this year and they are delighted that he will be presenting his masterclasses at their schools.
The cost per Ben Ungermann Masterclass is R950 and includes an apron to take home as well as time afterwards for talks and photos with Ungermann. The Masterclasses are presented by Capsicum Culinary Studio in partnership with Kenwood South SA. For bookings, contact email@example.com or 086 111 2433.
